I am a labor economist and postdoctoral researcher at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health at the University of Utah. My research focuses on how industry structure affects occupational safety and worker wellbeing, with emphasis on construction and commercial trucking. I use large administrative datasets to study how market structure, fissured employment and other labor practices shape injury risk and earnings for workers in some of the country’s most dangerous industries.
